Some of you may know that our Mike has volunteered his kidney to his childhood friend, Sean Toomey. Mike has passed the first level of testing to determine if he is a match for Sean (He is) and now there is testing going on to be sure that Mike's own health will not be compromised if he becomes an organ donor. He does not yet have the final green light, but he will know in a few days if he will fly from San Francisco to Boston Sep 8,9,10 for three days of full medical exams at the Lahey Clinic where the transplant will take place. If he's a "go" after that, the surgery will be the following week of Sep 15.

Sean is a wonderful friend with a great family. Whether Mike becomes THE donor or not, we are extremely proud of his generosity and courage. We'll keep you posted.
